Grace Yco shares how her science career journey went beyond the bench. From her days at Biogen and the La Jolla Institute for Immunology to blogging for a completely different industry during the then-nascent world of social media, she describes how these different but complementary experiences enabled a work-life integration of science, content and creativity.
Bio: Grace Yco is a former cancer researcher turned life science storyteller. Though no longer at the bench, Grace takes her penchant for science, an aliquot of creativity and incubates with empathy for peer-resonating content. She is currently Managing Editor of Life in the Lab, a magazine/blog for scientists by Thermo Fisher Scientific as well as a founding chapter member for the Asian Employee Resource Group and passionate DE&I advocate. Grace has a bachelor’s in Biology from the University of San Diego and is based in Thermo Fisher’s Carlsbad site.
